A Dog and Cat Unite

Now "The Sisters" were always plotting something against everyone. They stalked me, they stalked others...

and the even stalked each other.

Shaka's devotion to her daddy and to the creed that all true cats are solitary animals maintained a vast void of emptiness where you'd expect to see the slightest crack of the door to friendship. Little Peeps on the other hand had a soft heart underneath that thick gray fur coat. Shaka Boo's dominating ways had finally taken their tole on her and she began searching for something more in a relationship.

Then it happened...a small twig of freedom fell from mommy's handmade decoration and before either of us knew it we were playing together like school children on a merry-go-round.

From that day on Little Peeps and I were best friends and Shaka Boo's reign of terror had ended.

So I thought...

A Dog and His Friend

Oh boy, oh boy...Life was fun now that I had made a friend. Little Peeps was a joy to be around. We liked nothing better than to stalk a unsuspecting cricket.

Sure there were times when she'd snap back to an almost feral state of mind due to her bi-polar disorder, but dodging a few slashes from her talon like claws was a small price to pay to enjoy our special moments together.

When Little Peeps and I weren't chasing bugs and each others tails, we turned our attention to our new favorite game - herding Shaka Boo. I became such a devout fan of the game that I even challenged Shaka Boo by myself.

The time Little Peeps and I spent together made Shaka Boo's fur frizzled. She could no longer tolerate our joyful playing together and our constant attempts to herd her like a sheep.

And then, while enjoying her two favorite past-times of eating and glaring at Little Peeps, she suddenly had a idea that made her grin a wide as the Grinch on the day he stole Christmas.

A Dog's Nickname

August 2002

Six months is long time for a dog (it's like 3 1/2 human years). In no time I grew from a cute puppy full of wonder into a stunning dog with all new tricks.

Along the way I met my cousin Sunshine for the first time. Let me tell you she is a SMART one (something I've never been accused of)! Regardless of her brain power, we hit it off great. She chased me from the word go, and I quickly introduced her to my favorite mud hole hide away.

Also over this period of time I grew to really like my nickname. Being that I was the baby in the family and the only puppy, my parents simply starting calling me "Bubby." See when you add baby + puppy it equals bubby. No not buppy or paby, but bubby, which makes perfect since if you think like a pomeranian. I especially liked it because now I had a cool nickname like Little Peeps did (her real name is Sissy Peeps, but was called "Little Peeps" because when she was little her eyes made her look like one of those peeps candies that you can only get during Easter) and I liked my nickname because it made Shaka Boo's lip snarl just a tad every time she heard it.

But in reality it was just one more stir of the pot for Shaka Boo's grand plan she brewed against my best friend...
